Editorial policy

We write about people’s money. Here is how we make sure what we publish is accurate, verifiable and honest.

Our editorial mission

The Belook blog explains how money moves around the world: international payments, multi-currency exchange, Mobile Money, collective savings (tontines), escrow and financial inclusion.

We write for people who actually move money across countries and currencies. Our goal is clarity and accuracy, not volume.

Who writes, who reviews

Our content is produced by the Belook editorial team, with support from the product, security and compliance teams on the topics that concern them.

Any content touching money (fees, exchange rates, limits, regulatory obligations) is reviewed by a member of the relevant team before publication.

Use of artificial intelligence

We use AI tools for background research and first drafts of some articles. No content is published without human review.

When an article was written with AI assistance, we state so explicitly under the byline. We believe readers are entitled to know.

AI never decides a figure on its own: amounts, rates, fees and regulatory rules are verified at the source.

Sources and verification

We favour primary sources: central banks, the World Bank, IMF, BIS, GSMA, national regulators and official documentation from our partners.

Figures that are our own (cost per corridor, observed settlement times, observed spreads) come from our own operational data and are dated.

Independence and commercial transparency

Belook is a financial service: our articles may mention our products. We do so explicitly, and never present promotional content as neutral analysis.

Our content does not constitute investment, tax or legal advice.

Corrections

A factual error is corrected as soon as it is reported, and the article’s update date is changed accordingly.

To report an error: hi@belook.com.

Keeping content current

Articles covering moving data (rates, regulation, country availability) are reviewed periodically. Content that has become outdated is updated, merged into a more complete article, or removed from the index.
