Last updated : 2026-10-10

In brief

Belook is a global financial super-app built for the world's citizens. Belook is not regional or limited to any single continent: it supports you anywhere in the world, across multiple currencies and through many payment channels.
  • Multi-currency account with a dedicated IBAN to receive and send money internationally.
  • Belook Pay: instant peer-to-peer payments by @username or QR code, plus top-ups.
  • International transfers via bank (IBAN/SEPA) and Mobile Money (Orange Money, MTN, Moov, M-Pesa, Wave) through our regulated partners.
  • Virtual and physical payment cards.
  • Built-in Escrow, digital tontines (traditional and public), programmable savings vaults, and crowdfunding.
  • Belook Crypto: buy, sell and swap crypto-assets in self-custody, where the service is available.
By using Belook, you agree to these Terms of Use. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use our services.

1. Purpose & Acceptance

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Belook app, website and all services we provide (collectively, the "Services").

By creating an account, accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and our Privacy Policy. Together they form a binding agreement between you and Belook.

Certain Services may be subject to additional specific terms (for example, Escrow, cards or tontines). In case of conflict, the specific terms prevail for that Service.

2. Eligibility & Capacity

To use Belook, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old, or have reached the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction if higher;
  • Have the full legal capacity to enter into a binding contract;
  • Not be a person prohibited under applicable laws, nor appear on any national or international sanctions list;
  • Provide accurate, complete and up-to-date information when registering.
If you act on behalf of an entity, you represent that you are authorised to bind it. The Services are not intended for minors.

3. Account, Security & Compliance (KYC/AML)

3.1 Account creation and security

You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Enable the available security measures (strong authentication, biometrics, PIN) and notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.

3.2 Identity verification (KYC)

Belook applies a tiered verification process across KYC levels L0 to L3, which may include liveness checks. The features, caps and limits available to you depend on your verification level.

3.3 Anti-money-laundering (AML)

We operate bank-grade compliance controls against money laundering and terrorist financing. Accordingly, we may request additional documentation, verify the source of funds, monitor activity and, where required, suspend, freeze or close an account in accordance with the law.

4. Detailed Description of Services

4.1 Multi-currency account & IBAN

Your account lets you hold and manage multiple currencies and obtain a dedicated IBAN to receive and send funds internationally. IBANs are provided through regulated partner institutions; Belook provides the technology interface and user experience.

4.2 Belook Pay

Belook Pay enables instant peer-to-peer (P2P) payments by addressing a recipient via their @username or a QR code, as well as account top-ups. Always verify the recipient before sending: some payments may be irreversible.

4.3 International transfers: bank & Mobile Money

You can send transfers via bank (IBAN/SEPA) and via Mobile Money to wallets such as Orange Money, MTN, Moov, M-Pesa and Wave, through our regulated partners. Execution times, caps and availability depend on the corridor, partner and currency.

4.4 Payment cards

Belook offers virtual and physical cards for online and in-store purchases, subject to your balances, limits and applicable usage rules.

4.5 Escrow

Our built-in Escrow service secures transactions between parties. It supports:

  • milestones (staged release of funds);
  • commissioned intermediaries;
  • a dispute-resolution process;
  • a signed PDF contract summarising the agreed terms.

4.6 Digital tontines

Belook offers traditional tontines (classic rotating contributions among members) and public tontines in the form of campaigns / crowdfunding. Contribution, rotation and payout rules are defined within each tontine.

4.7 Savings vaults

Programmable savings vaults help you set money aside according to rules you define (goals, recurring deposits). Unless stated otherwise, a vault is a set-aside tool and does not constitute a guaranteed-return investment product.

4.8 Crowdfunding

Belook lets you launch and support crowdfunding campaigns. Campaign owners are responsible for the accuracy of their information and for the proper use of funds raised.

4.9 Crypto-assets (Belook Crypto)

Where this service is available in your jurisdiction, Belook Crypto lets you buy, sell and swap crypto-assets in self-custody (you keep control of your keys). Network (on-chain) fees and service fees may apply and are non-refundable. Crypto-assets are volatile and not guaranteed: see the "Risks" section.

5. Fees, Taxes & Currency Exchange

  • Applicable fees are set out in the published tariff schedule on the platform and may change.
  • Exchange rates and spreads are market-based and variable; the rate applied is the one in effect at the time of the transaction.
  • You are solely responsible for any taxes and reporting obligations applicable to you in your jurisdiction. Belook may be required to withhold or report where the law so requires.
Always check the current tariff schedule before confirming a transaction.

6. User Obligations

You agree to:

  • Use the Services in compliance with the law and these Terms;
  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date;
  • Maintain the security of your account and devices;
  • Not use the Services on behalf of an unauthorised third party;
  • Cooperate with reasonable verification and compliance requests.

7. Prohibited Uses

You must not use the Services for:

  • money laundering or terrorist financing;
  • fraud, phishing, impersonation or any deceptive scheme;
  • circumventing KYC/AML controls or sanctions;
  • infringing intellectual property rights;
  • buying or selling illegal goods or services (weapons, drugs, illicit content, etc.);
  • any transaction involving sanctioned persons, entities or territories;
  • any activity that harms the security or integrity of the Services.
Any breach may result in suspension, freezing of funds, account closure and, where appropriate, reporting to the competent authorities.

8. Service Availability & Maintenance

We strive to keep the Services highly available, but they are provided "as is" and "as available". Interruptions may occur due to scheduled maintenance, updates, technical incidents or causes beyond our control, including the availability of third-party partners. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

9. Intellectual Property & Licence

All elements of the Services — software, trademarks, logos, interfaces, text and content — are protected and remain the property of Belook or its licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to use the Services for legitimate purposes.

You may not copy, modify, decompile, resell or exploit the Services beyond what these Terms permit.

10. Personal Data

The processing of your personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms an integral part of these Terms. It explains the categories of data collected, the purposes, retention periods and your rights. Please review it to understand how we protect your information.

11. Risks

You acknowledge and accept the following risks:

  • Foreign exchange (FX): rates and spreads vary and may be unfavourable to you.
  • Crypto-assets (Belook Crypto): high volatility and risk of capital loss; self-custody operations are irreversible and network fees are non-refundable.
  • Irreversibility: certain payments and transfers, once executed, cannot be reversed.
  • Third parties: the timing and completion of some operations depend on partners (banks, Mobile Money operators).
Only commit amounts you can afford to lock up or lose, and verify every operation before confirming it.

12. Warranties & Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Belook shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, nor for loss of profits, data or opportunities.

Where Belook is found liable, its liability is, to the fullest extent permitted by law, limited to the amount of fees you paid to Belook for the relevant transaction. Nothing excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Belook, its officers, employees and partners against any claim, loss, liability, expense or damage (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your use of the Services, or your failure to comply with applicable law.

14. Suspension, Freezing of Funds & Termination

We may suspend, restrict, freeze funds or close your account, in whole or in part, including in cases of:

  • suspected fraud, money laundering or illegal activity;
  • legal, regulatory or compliance requirements;
  • breach of these Terms;
  • inability to complete your verification (KYC).

You may close your account at any time, subject to settlement of pending operations and legal obligations. Upon closure, available balances are returned to you in accordance with applicable procedures and compliance requirements.

15. Complaints & Disputes — Dubai (UAE)

We encourage you to contact our support first to resolve any dispute amicably.

These Terms are governed by the laws of Dubai (United Arab Emirates). Any dispute falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai (UAE), subject to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions that may apply to you in your jurisdiction.

16. Changes to the Terms

We may amend these Terms to reflect changes to our Services, the law or our practices. Where a change is material, we will notify you by reasonable means. Continued use of the Services after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

17. Force Majeure

Belook is not liable for any failure or delay resulting from events beyond its reasonable control, including natural disasters, conflicts, network or power outages, acts of authorities, or failures of third-party partners or providers.

18. Severability, Assignment & Miscellaneous

  • Severability: if any clause is held invalid, the remaining clauses stay in full force.
  • Assignment: you may not assign your rights without our consent; Belook may assign its rights as part of a reorganisation or business transfer.
  • Waiver: failure to exercise a right is not a waiver of that right.
  • Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the documents they reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and Belook.
